Acne

Acne is a common skin disorder caused by blocked hair follicles beneath the skin. Oil and dead skin cells clog pores, resulting in breakouts or pimples. These outbreaks most usually affect the face, although they can also affect the back, chest, and shoulders. Acne usually goes away by the time people reach their thirties.

Symptoms

Whiteheads (closed clogged pores)
Blackheads (open clogged pores)
Small red, tender bumps (papules)
Pimples (pustules), which are papules with pus at their tips
Large, solid, painful lumps under the skin (nodules)
Painful, pus-filled lumps under the skin (cystic lesions)
Acne usually appears on the face, forehead, chest, upper back and shoulders.
